Gratitude is that we realize that there is a lot of good in our world and life and we have got all this without asking, as if two swords cannot remain in one sheath. You cannot be unhappy, anxious and upset as well as being grateful.


What does gratitude actually means?


Gratitude, thankfulness or gratefulness from the Latin word "gratus" which means pleasing, thankful, is a feeling of appreciation felt by and /or similar positive responses shown by the recipient of kindness, gifts, help, favours or other types of generosity, towards the giver of such gifts

How the gratitude works? 

When we feel gratitude, the medial pre frontal cortex part of the brain becomes active. 

This is the part that one feels-

  • Happy at the time of social interaction and human connection.
  • Controls emotion and relieves pain and discomfort.
  • Prevents depression and it is the part of the brain that connects the left brain to the right brain. 
When our mind feels, then there are positive effects on its body as well 

  • Feeling deep and long sleep.
  • Felling refreshing.
  • Feeling satisfaction.
  • Immune system strengthen
  • Feeling motivated and happiness.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough and more. It turns denial into acceptance, Chaos into order, confusion into clarity. It turns problems into gifts, failures into success. The expected into perfect timing and mistakes into important events. ~ Melody Beattie.

Why the gratitude is so important? 

Gratitude may be serve to reinforce future prosocial, behaviour in benefactors. 

For example one experiment found that customers of a jewelry store. Who were called and thanked showed a subsequent 70% increase in purchase.

 In comparison, customers who were called and told about a sale showed only 30% increase in purchases , and customers who were not called at all, did not show an increase

An another study regular patrons of a restaurant gave bigger tips, when servers wrote "thank you " on their checks.

Gratitude is the best medicine, it heals your mind, your body and your spirit and attracts more things to be grateful for.

Gratitude is great and great is the one who understands its value and practice it. Gratitude does not make you lesser , it makes you greater. It increases your valve as a human being.
